The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi has visited KNUST to interact with students on his vision for football in Ghana and to inspire them to aim for greater achievements in education as well as sports.
In an address, Kofi Nsiah the General Secretary of the GFA said that Mr. Nyantakyi and his entourage came to Kumasi to pay homage to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II after obtaining a seat as a member of the CAF (Confederation of African Football) Board. He continued that Mr. Nyantakyi deemed it prudent to seize the opportunity visit KNUST and have fruitful interactions with its students where his vision for sports in the University would also be made known.
The Pro Vice-Chancellor stated that the University encouraged sports because it enhances academic achievements and the development of sports in Ghana. He requested of GFA to assist with the upgrading of the University's sports facilities to international level.
The Sports team at Focus FM (94.3Mhz) had an interview with Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi and his team. Afterwards, students had deliberations on sports in Ghana with the entourage at the forecourt of Independence Hall.
